What are the features and benefits of CORE Business System?
Features: Under license, the customer can view and modify the source code. There is no need for proprietary software products. You no longer have to ask permission from your software supplier for a customized update to meet your requirements. Benefits: CORE is programmed in Sun Microsystem's Java language. The most widely used and supported business application framework used today. This will allow you to use your own I.T. staff to make changes or utilize RPC's highly skilled staff to convert your updates.
Features: CORE uses client-server desktop and web-based technology. Benefits: This will allow those in the office to utilize the desktop system and those in the field to utilize the web-based system via the Internet without installed software on their computers. This includes vendors and customers.
Features: CORE stores all data in MySQL Relational Database Management System. Benefits: This allows for almost universal access, in a secure yet non-proprietary manner, to your data.
Features: Once the customer information has been entered it can be used throughout CORE. Benefits: No longer do you have to enter the same data again and again. Just type in the customer name and the order header is completed with all the customer 'bill to' and 'ship to' and 'taxing' information. If the 'ship to' changes just mouse click the new address and it is entered instantaneously for you with the correct 'taxing' requirement for that city, county, parish, zip code, state, etc.
Features: Software support 24/7. Benefits: A RPC representitive will contact the user within 60 minutes of a problem. If necessary we can dial-in to the users system resolving the problem in a timely manner.
Features: Convert sales quotes into orders at the click of a button. Benefits: Customer and vendor data is only input once saving valuable sales/sales assistances time.
Features: Any change made to an order in CORE will have an 'audit trail' created. Benefits: If anyone makes a change to the order an 'audit trail' is created showing the person that made the change, the date and time of day and what was changed.
Features: EDI orders to vendors without buying an expensive software interface application. Benefits: No more mailing, faxing pages or buying an expensive interface to EDI your orders. RPC's software engineers write your EDI interface to a vendor or customer standard, not an application; therefore we can rapidly integrate new EDI platforms and requirements.
Features: Vendor electronic order acknowledgement. Benefits: After the vendor acknowledges the order CORE matches the original order and the electronic acknowledgement and if there is a discrepancy it will highlight the differences. Imagine the time this will save on large orders.
Features: Design and sort reports through CORE 'real-time' to meet your needs not the software suppliers. Benefits: Every dealer has a preconceived idea on what reports are needed and in what format. The Java programming language allows this need to easily be met either internally or externally. You can then reach and review these reports at the office or via the web any time, any where.
Features: Limit or eliminate your number of preprinted forms. Benefits: All quotes, customer correspondence, invoices, PO's, acknowledgements, etc. can be printed on plain white paper. The logo/borders/colors, etc. are printed automatically through your CORE software.
Features: Microsoft's 'look and feel' is used throughout CORE. Benefits: Most employees are familiar with Microsoft and their screen layout. RPC programmers have kept that 'look and feel' so users are comfortable with the software from the start.
Features: Easy to use dropdown boxes/tabs throughout CORE. Benefits: By using these dropdown boxes you can quickly and easily manipulate the different screens to save time and labor. You can have as many dropdown boxes open as needed and do not have to close one tab to open a different tab or 'back-out' of a screen to access a different screen.
Features: Vendor catalogs can be made available within CORE *(Add-on Module). Benefits: You can SIF your requirements or use the vendor catalog/s loaded into CORE to create your proposal. Just use CORE's dropdown vendor catalog menu, mouse click the item, chose the options and it drops into your proposal. There is no longer a need to go back and forth between your SIF files and the proposal. Another option is to create your own catalog for a new vendor; even a new or existing customer can have their own catalog.
Features: Once the vendor catalog/s have been added to CORE you can use the Auto-Fill module which makes quoting quick and easy *(Add-on Module). Benefits: With the vendor catalog open simply type the first few letters/numbers of the manufacture's product code and CORE will access the catalog and help you complete the remainder of the code. Again saving time and improving productivity.
Features: CORE was designed at a contract furniture dealership for the dealer and their employees. Benefits: Having been designed around the dealership, the entire company from management to sales assistance to the CAD department to the sales personnel, supplied input into the finished product.

Features: Customize any commission plan for the dealership with the data already in CORE. Benefits: No longer do you need to calculate commissions on a separate program outside of your current business system. Simply 'fill-in-the-blank' and CORE calculates the commissions automatically.
Features: Management can review any/all proposals either in the office or via the web from any off-site location. Benefits: If approval of a proposal is required this can be competed anywhere, including the office, because of the web based portal we utilize. Now both the sales person on the road and management in the office can view the same proposal at the same time via the web.
Features: Direct billing is accomplished with the click of a mouse *(Add-on Module). Benefits: Direct billing from the manufacturer can be accomplished with ease by checking a box in CORE that allows the financial data to by-pass the accounting package. This is very important for GSA business.
Features: CORE's Standards Program is available through the desktop or the web *(Add-on Module). Benefits: This will allow the dealer and the customers to access the Standards template, choose a space already approved for that customer and choose the office furniture options for that space. This bill of materials becomes a quotation and once approved the dealership can process the purchase order quickly and efficiently.
Features: Produce and acknowledge Purchase Orders over the Internet. Benefits: Purchase Orders can be produced, acknowledged, changed and transmitted securely over the web instantaneously thereby reducing errors and improving employee efficiency.
Features: Local on-site training. Benefits: On-site training allows your entire office/sales/management personnel to be instructed in the use of the desktop and web portions of the software. One-half day training is followed up by one-half day of using CORE while we are on-site. This has proven to be the easiest and best way to learn the software.

Features: CORE can be used as a receiving tool. Benefits: Once the installation company has unloaded and inventoried the furniture they can get on-line and 'receive' the items. Then at a set time everyday this information can be downloaded into CORE and automatically updated in CORE.Vision. No more faxes, additional paperwork or duplicated input requirements.
Features: CORE gives you real-time reporting. Benefits: Reports from quotes to orders to acknowledgements to accounting information are real-time. No more waiting until the end of the day or having all the users 'sign-off the system' so a batch report can be run. CORE gives you real-time reporting anytime from the desktop or over the web. You are finally in control of your own data.
Features: CORE is located on the server in the user's office. Benefits: Since the software is loaded on the server the number of users is unlimited. There is no additional cost to add more users either on-site or off-site via a T-1 or DSL line. If another location requires a server loaded with CORE than another license and software package would need to be purchased.
Features: If the dealership has many locations then a CORE Enterprise License is available, thereby saving the dealership additional costs. Benefits: The dealership can have servers at numerous locations for one licensing fee. Or the dealership can 'host' all of their locations for a single licensing fee. By choosing one of these options the costs will be limited.

Benefits: Now your installers will have in-hand a computer generated work-order or delivery ticket to carry to the work site. Either the dealership can print-out the work-order or delivery ticket or the installers can access the Internet and review their work schedule and printout their own documents.
Features: Time tracking and time sheets are generated in CORE. *(Add-on Module). Benefits: It has never been easier to input an employee's time and printout their time sheet. Once this data is in the CORE the dealership can review the actual time spent on a project and compare it to the budgeted time.
Features: Notify all the personnel involved in an order via e-mail, phone or fax as you complete the order header. Benefits: As the CORE order header is completed a dropdown list allows the employee to add all personnel involved by 'clicking' on their names and CORE notifies each person of the order so no-one is left out.
Features: Vendor deposits are easily viewed in CORE. Benefits: Simply go to the order header and view vendor deposits. If there is more that one vendor deposit they will be listed in order. Then when it is time to invoice the customer use some or all of the deposit/s, you can decide the action to be taken.
Features: B2B is made easy with CORE's leading edge technology. Benefits: If the customer requires the dealership to use a B2B link (i.e., Ariba, CommerceOne, Ventro, etc.), CORE can simply connect to the customers link and all data can be transferred electronically.
